Why do we use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
To optimally secure your account and data, we use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). With MFA, you do not just log in with a password, but also confirm your identity with an additional verification method, such as an authenticator app or a code on your mobile device. This reduces the risk of unauthorized access, even if the password were to become known to third parties.
What does “Trust this device for 30 days” mean?
When selecting “Trust this device for 30 days”, you do not need to perform additional MFA verification on this device for 30 days. This applies exclusively under the following conditions:
- Only for this specific browser
- Only for your user account (not for other users logging in on the same browser)
If one of these situations changes (for example, a different browser, a different location, a different network, or if another user logs in on the same device in the meantime), an MFA code will be requested again.
What should I do if I have forgotten or lost my MFA device?
Do you not have access to your authenticator app or security key? Then you have the following options.:
- Install the authenticator app on another device. If you previously backed up your authenticator app (for example, via cloud backup), you can restore your accounts and use MFA again.
- Use the security key you received when setting up MFA. You can add this to a new authenticator app to regain access.
If this doesn't work?
Then please contact your application administrator within your organization. The administrator can reconfigure or reset the MFA settings per user.
NB: Centix Support cannot reset or reconfigure MFA settings. Only your organization's internal administrator can resolve this for you.
